IRONHEART SLED DOGS  started in 2005.                                

     Lynda grew up rural Chester County, Pennsylvania, showing baby beef and horses in 4-H, fox-hunting and barrel racing.  At 18 it was off to gallop racehorses, both flat and steeplechasers, eventually finding her way back to the foxhounds. She has two grown children, Kym who is at Penn State, and Tarah who has her own business.

     Ed has been a farrier for 35 years He started in the horse business grooming on the "A" show circuit and shipping horses up and down the east coast. He began shoeing horses full tme in 1977 and after attending the advanced farrier program in 1983 has kept a strong relationship with New Bolton Center the University of Pennsylvania  large animal hospital.  His background is mostly in hoof reconstruction in sport horses. Ed also has two grown children, Jason and Sarah, and granddaughter Emma!

      Early on, we met our now good friends Carol and Dan Riegel. Carol had been racing for some time and was happy to help us out.  She brought her equipment and team and added some sense to what we were trying to do!!  She lent us WONDERFUL lead dogs, and introduced us to Kenny & Lori Chezik, which is when we purchased Hanna, she was just what was needed.  Hanna knew more about racing than most people.  We were lucky enough to breed her to Dawn Brown's Connor, and have 3 four year olds from that litter, Hank, Helly & Happy, who all race , two are leaders. Hanna is retired now and just supervises the rookies around her, sometimes you'd swear you'd hear her call someone that under her breath!

     We've tried to make it to Michigan for early training each fall since we started, the Chezik's hospitality, dog knowledge and guidance, is immeasurable, not to mention the food- is out of this world!!! Ed always looks forward to seeing his good friend Dale Munford.

      Meanwhile, we picked up 5 alaskan malamutes, Quest being our first. Then we got Miki from Aspenmyst. Burt and Ellisa Kelly have helped us a bunch. These guys sled, and show, and weight pull.  

     We would like to thank all who have helped us along the way.
